OUR SERVICES

We offer a wide range of services to both private and business clients

We Care

You can rely on us.

Residential Property

Are you moving house?  Do you have a house to sell or are you buying a house?  If so, we would be happy to act for you in the sale or purchase.

We can also advise you on and assist you with mortgaging or remortgaging your house.

We are well-known as experienced conveyancers who provide a first-class service.

Commercial Property

We act for business clients in relation to sales, purchases and leases of different types of commercial property, including shops, offices, restaurants, factories, workshops and warehouses as well as housing and apartment developments.

We also deal with lending institutions on behalf of commercial clients in relation to financing purchases and leases of commercial property.

Our knowledge and expertise in this area are one of our main strengths.

Elderly Clients

A very large part of our legal practice now involves advising elderly clients on how to manage their affairs, protect their assets, such as their homes, and plan for long-term care.

These issues often arise when clients think about making a Will or signing an Enduring Power of Attorney so that another family member can look after their property and finances when they are no longer able to do so themselves, usually as a result of an accident or illness.

Family & Children

Marriage beakdown can be very distressing and emotionally exhausting.  What will happen with the children?  What share of the finances am I entitled to?

We can advise on and prepare a separation agreement.  We can also assist you in petitioning for divorce and obtaining an order regarding responsibility for and contact with your children.

Wills, Trusts & Estate Planning

It is estimated that only about one in three people has made a Will.  Yet making a Will can be very simple, if it is done right and can make things so much easier for your family when you are gone.

We specialise in drafting Wills.  We also specialise in trusts and estate planning – giving advice to clients who wish to arrange their affairs in order to make their financial future more comfortable and secure, to minimise their inheritence tax liability and maximise what will pass on to their surviving family members.

Our partner, Peter Thompson, is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Corporate & Commercial

Corporate and commerical clients rely on us for advice and assitance in relation to a wide variety of business agreements.

We can prepare and negotiate sales, agency, distribution, franchise, leasing and many other commercial agreements including business arrangements overseas in Europe, USA, the Far East and India.

Personal Injury Claims

If you have sustained an injury through someone else’s fault, for example in a road traffic accident or at work, we can assist you to obtain compensation either through settlement or court action if neccessary.  If your claim succeeds, you probably won’t have to pay any legal fees.

We are experienced claims lawyers and will do everything to obtain the maximum possible compensation for your injuries.

i

Probate & Administration of Estates

When someone dies, their affairs need sorted out.  We specialise in administering the affairs (estates) of deceased clients, especially when the estates are complex and too difficult for the family to deal with.

We provide a comprehensive service right through from investigating the deceased person’s assets and liabilities to obtaining a Grant of Probate (if there was a will) or Letters of Administration (if there was no will) from the Court and distributing the finances to the surviving family and other beneficiaries.  This is usually a very difficult time for the family of the deceased who value our sympathetic and expert advice and assistance.

+

Litigation

We often act for people making claims and sometimes for people defending claims by others.  These can involve all kinds of disputes from breach of contract and debt recovery to neighbour disputes about land boundaries and damage to property.

Litigation can be a difficult process, which we do our best to make easy for clients.  We listen to what our clients hope to achieve and make every effort to achieve that for them through negotiation and settlement, if at all possible, or through court action where necessary.
